Patient History

Poorly controlled hypertension despite 5 daily antihypertensive medications. Recently developing noticeable rise in creatinine to 1.9 prior to procedure. No other major medical problems.

Exam


Physical Exam and Laboratory

Bounding pulses throughout.


Findings


Summary of Findings

MRA demonstrates apparent complete obstruction of left renal artery, with flow through right renal artery.

Ultrsound demonstrates resistive index of less than 0.70 in renal cortical arteries.

Angiography demonstrates narrowed, but patent, left renal artery, and severe calcified stenosis of right renal artery.
