Increasing lower back pain over the past two weeks. No history of recent trauma.

Summary of Findings

Multiple views of the lumbosacral spine demonstrate an intravertebral transverse central radiolucency with marginal sclerosis at the L1 vertebral level. The vertebral body appears partially collapsed. The bones are diffusely demineralized. Mild degenerative changes to the lumbosacral spine are noted, Figure 1.

Infection, neoplasm, chronic systemic steroid therapy, alcoholism, and radiation therapy.
