Patient History

15 y.o. boy with four month history of backache and left sided lumbar muscle stiffness. Patient reported needing to take motrin daily for these complaints.

Summary of Findings

PLAIN FILM:
Expansile lytic lesion at right pedicle of L2. There is alsom a 9.5 degree levoconvex lumbar scoliosis as measured from the superior endplate of L2 to the inferior endplate of L4.

CT:
Nonagressive expansile lytic process at right pedicle of L2 involving the transverse process, posterior spinous process and pars interarticularis. Lesion has intact cortical margins and a few septations. Lesion expands the inner cortical margin into the spinal canal.

Differential Diagnosis

1. Osteoblastoma
2. Aneurysmal bone cyst
