Look at the temporal lobe ... at the gray matter

TITLE: Herpes Encephalitis

DESCRIPTION:
MRI on presentation shows edema, mass effect but no abnormal enchancement in the left temporal lobe.

MRI 3 months later demonstrates resolution of mass effect and edema but reveals abnormal enhancement not seen in the acute phase of the encephalitis.
