TITLE: Aortic Dissection

DESCRIPTION:
CT with IV contrast demonstrates the creation of a false lumen with an intimal flap separating the true and false lumen. There is also hemopericardium (arrows) and blood tracking throughout the mediastinum (asterisks). Luckily for this patient, the coronary arteries (LAD - red arrowheads) and great vessels (A and Ao) were not occluded and they enjoyed continued perfusion.

A - ascending aorta

Ao - descending aorta
