A thin capsule surrounds a collection of glandular and fatty tissue seen at the five o’clock position of the left breast. No suspicious masses or clustered microcalcifications.

DISCUSSION: Breast hamartomas are benign lesions with no malignant potential. Composed of normal fibrous, glandular and fatty breast tissues surrounded by a thin pseudocapsule, hamartomas have been described as “breast within a breast” lesions. When palpable, they are often soft. They can grow to a large size, with subsequent significant asymmetry in breast size.
