A genetic male (XY) inherits an end-organ unresponsiveness to testosterone. This leads to a phenotypic female habitus. Undescended testes, infertility (azoospermia) and increased incidence of of testicular neoplasms. Presenting symptoms include primary amenorrhea, infertility, and puberty.

Typically breast development occurs in a patient without pubic or axillary hair.
