Pseudo tumor cerebri - a clinical presentation suggesting an intracranial tumor (e.g. headache and papilledema) but no tumor is seen on neuroimaging. Patients often have increased intracranial pressure on lumbar puncture

Usually described as "idopathic" there are multiple causes: cerebral edema; hyperemic swelling; and, an imbalance between CSF production and reapsorption. CSF reabsorption may be impaired by venous sinus stenosis or thrombosis.

Obesity and pregnancy are predisposing factors and there is a predilection for women between 20 and 50 years old.
