Level of Origin/Termination: Metencephalon (Lower Pons)
Cells of Origin/Termination: Facial Motor Nucleus, Superior Salivatory Nucleus, Solitary Nucleus
Ganglia: Geniculate Ganglion, Pterygopalantine Ganglion, Submandibular Ganglion
Cranial Exit: Internal Acostic Meatus, Stylomastoid Foramen, Facial Canal
Innervation: Parasympathetics to submandibular and subligual salivary glands, lacrimal gland and glands of the nose and palate. Motor to muscles of facial expression. Sensory from anterior 2/3 of tongue
Function: Primary Root= Control the muscles of facial expression
Interemediate Nerve= Regulate salivary glands and taste
