Clinical Presentation: 32 y.o. man

History

32 y.o. status post left radical nephrectomy 3 months prior. Has recent CT of the chest revealing a 1.5- to 2-cm irregularly-shaped heterogeneous attenuation soft-tissue density in the left lobe of the thyroid.

The mid left lobe of the thyroid revealed a heterogeneous hypoechoic round lesion measuring 2.5 cm with internal cystic regions and variable vascularity as demonstrated with color doppler

Differential Diagnosis

benign vs. neoplastic lesion to include primary vs. mets

Renal cell carcinoma metastatic to thyroid gland
