Pneumothorax ::

Pneumothorax, Iatrogenic (subclavian catheter)
:: || ACR Codes: .
A single PA film of the chest reveals a left subclavian line with the tip in the right atrium. In addition there is a left sided pneumothorax, with decreased left lung volume with a thin white line outlining the lung edge. There are no vascular lung markings between this pleural line and the rib cage - indicating free pleural air (pneumothorax). There is minimal tracheal deviation away toward the right, and possibly mild deviation of the mediastinum as well. However, there is no flattening of the left hemidiaphragm.
