Kissing Carotids - Read Topic
Coronal : MR - T1W - noncontrast

Coronal T1W MR.
Normally in the coronal plane, there are two round flow voids on either side of the pituitary fossa, from the carotid siphon. In this example, two of the flow voids are medial, and below the pituitary. So-called "kissing carotids" are an anatomic variant. Surgical planning prior to skull base and transphenoidal surgery should clearly document the location of the carotid arteries.
